I recently had the opportunity to return again to the home of a friend in Guanajuato, GTO, Mexico.
My friend, who I have known for nearly 25 years, has been my biggest unconditional cheerleader, encouraging me at every stage of my fabric and fiber endeavors (my gratitude overflows) …and she has accumulated quite a collection of my wearable pieces over the years (and counting).
Not long after I arrived, she pulled out all of the pieces, a fraction of which is featured in the first image below. This collection represents all of my forays into cloth “enrichment” over the years – felting, dyeing, printing, discharge, resist, burn-out, hand-spinning, crochet, machine-stitch processes, and more. I couldn’t quite accept that this bundle of cloth came from my own hand – it was overwhelming to see it all together! …and also energizing. (Just in time, as I am contemplating and beginning to work on the new seasons to come.) We put a few outfits together and arrived at these looks, for which my beautiful friend graciously modeled – I am delighted to share with you now!
